Hi.
I am the non-biological parent of a 9 year old girl. I have treated her as my own since birth. Paid for private schools, back to school clothes, medical checkups, kept her on all summer, winter and any breaks during elementary school so that her mother didn't have to pay for Child Care.

I have now found someone who I want to spend the rest of my life with, however, the biological mother of my 9 year old does not like my fiance. So, she is using my daughter as a pawn. I was hoping that you could tell me what kind of rights I have as a parent.

were you ever married to her mother? i've heard of a couple of cases where non-biological parents had to pay child support after a divorce even though there was no biological tie to the child (not sure of all of the circumstances though). i would imagine that if responsibilities can continue, so can rights. but we'd have to know more details.
