andy230280 Nov 2, 2009, 03:38 PM what rights does a father have in the uk if his name is on the birth certificate andy230280 Nov 2, 2009, 03:40 PM could i get 50 50 rights to my daughter as i want to spend as much time as possible but my ex partner is not allowing me s_cianci Nov 2, 2009, 03:48 PM You need to go to your local family court and file a motion asking for visitation, including the specific terms you want to request. You can request joint physical and legal custody and spell out the days and times you want visitation. If you can afford it it'll certainly pay for you to hire an experienced family law attorney from your area. shelby4632 Nov 2, 2009, 07:09 PM Andy230...My son is currently facing the same issue. I can assure you an Attorney that specializes in Family Law will best serve you and give you answers to what the possibilty you have in gaining 50/50 custody for your state as each state differ. We were told for my son's case .very possible but many factors are evaluated such as age of child , activities , distance between parents.etc. Do a little research .Then take advantage of free consultations and speak with more than one attorney . You stated "ex partner" does this mean you were never married? Did you establish Paternity? If no to either , contact your local court and take steps to get the paternity established! ScottGem Nov 2, 2009, 07:31 PM Without such info, you NEED to consult an attorney who will ask those questions so he can help. If so, then both parents have full parental authority. Hope this helps!
