Yesterday my Linux file server suddenly desided it couldn't find 4 of the 7 drives that make up my raid 5. I shut the system down and think I have fixed the problem (Power supply) But I'm not totally sure I have put the HDs back in the same order. If the drives are not in the right order, will it mess up the raid? The raid was built using mdadm. Thanks in advance for your help.

Though many of us here use Ubuntu Desktop edition on single drive I'm not sure many use the Server edition with a RAID setup as you do. As you probably know the Ubuntu community is quite helpful, you could start here: Server Platforms - Ubuntu Forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=339) Do a search first in case the question has been answered already.
