I have been experiencing extreme pelvic pain, including the ovarian zone, since my period started 5 days ago, the flow was heavy and cloty and gluey. It had a liquid seeming foul odor. I have no STD's, no sex in years since the birth of my last child. I am in extreme pain and the closer I get to ending my period, the brighter the blood is now and more severe the pain. I am having a hard time peeing too, but I have been diagnosed with hyperbladder, Addison's, Lupus, Lupus Anticoagulant (on no meds for that), Hashimoto's and Graves Disease. I took Vicoden ES and still hurts very bad. At one point i dripped a clot on the floor and when i got off the toliet to clean it quickly, :mad:it was so sticky - I had to scrub the floor to get rid of the blood. It seems like there is a clearish dishcharge overlapping this at the onset of my period that smells foul. I AM IN SEVERE UNSUAL PAIN. Do I need to go to the ER? Or can this wait for the specialist? Also, my mother had a hystorectomy because she had an Ovarian Cyst before she died a long time ago. I always have urinary frequency but not much comes out. Any ideas?

You need to get seen as soon as possible. Odor indicates infection.

Unfortunately, with your medical conditions, that is the best advice you will receive here.

I'm not one to recommend an ER except in EMERGENCiES, however, this time I would think it okay to visit your ER.

If they have one in her area. Not all areas have them. I know mine doesn't. ;)

I have two that I know of. One is right across the street from a hospital. Probably all within a 10 mile radius. The out of cost was the co-pay of a specialist visit which was $25.

The insurance plan really doesn't want you to go to an emergency room if you don't have too. The waits at the critical care facility are also much shorter. I've used them twice. Both for bronchitus. Once, I could not get an appointment with my doc and they suggested critical care and the other time was a weekend.

I agree with you KISS, however, if I were to have to go to a care facility such as you are suggesting, I would have to travel 50 miles.

I don't claim to know where the OP lives, but I live in a very rural community and the hospital is our only choice.

You know I rarely suggest going to the ER unless it is life threatening.
