Where do all the wires go on a 5 wire switch? There is only 1 2 3 and L. There are 2 slots on each though.

Please tell us more details like colors of the wires, brand, does it have a light kit, remote, pull chains, etc...

No Light. 5 wires. the pull chain for making the fan itself work is what I need help on. The colors are black, blue, yellow, green and the brown and white wires are connected together.

Whoever worked on this fan last time numbered them 1 thru 5 but my problem is there arent 5 slots. And I bought a 5 wire switch.

Where do you live? This is not making sense to me because a normal switch needs to accept only 2 or 3 wires. How many wires and colors enter the switch box, how many wires and colors are coming off the fan unit?
