Hello my name is tim hammonds and i have two kids. A boy who is 8 and a girl who is 6. At this moment the kids live with their grandparents. The reason of this is because at one time i was not stable enough to take care of them. However now i am and i would like to get custody of them. The grandparents have offer me money to let them adopt them. I do not want to this. They have also took the kids to alaska for the past five months i did not sign a piece of paper for them to take them. What do i do to get custody of my kids. I really need your help.

Thank you,
timothy hammonds

You go to Court and file for custody. Where is the children's mother?

You will say that you are fit to take care of them and not a danger to the children. My feeling is that the Grandparents will argue that you are unable to care for them and are a danger and will attempt to use past history to prove their argument.

It is possible that all parties will be interviewed and evaluated, including the children, and a legal representative will be appointed for them.

It is illegal to accept money in exchange for signing adoption papers, by the way.

First did your grandparents ever get custody though the courts, or did you merley go to thier home and drop them off.

If you never gave them custody or guardianship, and they never got it though the courts, you still have it and merley have to go get the kids

We need more info here. We need to know whether the grandparents were given legal custody or guardianship. We need to know if a court ever gave you visitation rights. We need to know where their mother is. We need to know the exact circumstances in which the grandparents gained control of the children. We also need to know what state you live in and whether you have an attorney.
