I'm looking for my refund for an amended tax return. Sent in on June 22,2009 and here
it is October 28th. Where is it?

You need to call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 to inquire about your amended tax refund. Four months is more than enough time for them to review and process the amendment.

By any chance, did you MOVE or otherwise change your address since filing the amendment??

If you tried to claim the 2008/9 first time homebuyers tax credit on your 1040X, 6 months wait wouldnt be a record. I filed a 1040X in April and got my refund in Sept.

That may in fact be the case, but a phone call to the IRS should confirm or deny that.
