Most of the software to crack the password costs money,
check out this informative guide, How to remove, crack, or break a forgotten Excel xls password (http://www.online-tech-tips.com/ms-office-tips/how-to-remove-crack-or-break-a-forgotten-excel-xls-password/)
I seen them as low as $50.
This is also a good site, Word | Excel | VBA password recovery (http://www.password-find.com/)
