More people are staying single longer in the US.
1n 1990 , the number of never married adults, age 15 and over, was 52.6 million.
By 2000, it was 59.9 million.

Assume the data increase lineraly, and write an equation that defines a linear function for this data. Let x represent the number of years since 1990.

Assume the data increase lineraly, and write an equation that defines a linear function for this data. Let x represent the number of years since 1990.

Use the form

\frac{y_0-y_1}{x_0-x_1}=m to find the slope, where y0,y1 represents the number of adults, and x0, x1 represent the years since 1990.

After minding m, choose a point and plug it into the form

y=mx+b

This is exactly the same as your other problem:
http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/math-sciences/how-do-write-linear-cost-function-409322.html

Learn how to do one. Then try to apply it to the others.

(It's a silly problem anyway. Without knowing it as a percent of total population, it means absolutely nothing. Seems illogical for a math problem to be illogical.)
