Uncertain without any other info, why not just run it both ways using a computer software tax program ?

I agree with Richard.

Although typically, filing jointly is less total tax, but is not always the case.

But run the numbers for both, and see.

It also makes a difference as to where you live and a few other factors.

Most tax professionals do it both ways. In 95% of the cases, filing jointly is best.
