So i have an extremely sore, swollen throat and i have lots of flem im coughing up as well as blood. I went to the doctor 3 days ago and he prescribed me penicillin he didn't even do a throat swab(which i think he should have ), but my throat is NOT doing any better and i am getting very dehydrated because it hurts just to drink! Is it bad that i am coughing blood up? Also should i go back to the doctor and get him to prescribe me some stronger antibiotic? And any home remedies that may soothe a sore SORE throat would be much appreciated!

You could have strep throat which is rheumatic fever. You can have serious heart damage if this is treated effectively and completely.

Yes, DO go back to the doctors and insist on a throat swab to determine if you do in fact have strep. Strep sounds a lot like your symptoms.

Gargle with warm salt water is best.
