I am trying to replace the spring extension #732-04076A on a 38" yard machine by MTD. I have the pulley side located but cannot find where it hooks to the frame. Any ideas?

Any ideas? crigby Oct 21, 2009, 09:51 AM How about the model number of the machine. MTD is "famous" for their different engineering of various models and the "re-use" of parts in different areas. Peace, Clarke PS or barring that, what does the spring do? dhl2006 Oct 21, 2009, 10:31 AM First of all, thanks in advance for your help. The model # is 13AC762F729 and it Date of Manufacture is 1/20/2006. it is a 1.15x7.90 spring that hooks to the variable speed bracket. I cannot find a place for the other end that is close to 8" from there. crigby Oct 21, 2009, 10:58 AM Hi, It wouuld seem to connect to the left rear frame by the IPL (Illutrated Parts List) drawing that is available from: PDF Manual Web Archive (http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/mtd/public/manuals.jsp) and picture attached. Use a "1" in the serial number blank. Peace, Clarke Copyright ©2005-, Ask Me Help Desk
