If you were on antibiotics you obviously have seen a doctor. What does he/she think it is?

If the bump hasn't gone away, even after a doctors care, it's time to go back.

Whatever you do, don't try to pop it or care for it yourself, other then keeping it clean.

Back to the doctor, that's really your only option.

Good luck.

How did you get antibiotics for this bump if you didn't see a doctor?

Bad idea.

Doctors never prescribe more antibiotics then needed for a certain problem. You should have "old ones" left over.

Also, you don't know that this is an infection that requires antibiotics. You're not doing yourself any good by taking left over drugs without diagnosing the actual problem.

Are you female? Sorry but your post doesn't make it clear whether you're male or female. Either way you need to see your doctor.

How do you know it's not an ingrown hair? The reason it's called an ingrown hair is because it's ingrown. It usually requires a doctors visit in order to fix this.

You really need to make an appointment, this isn't something you should even try to fix yourself, even if you knew what this bump is.

Make an appointment. Okay?

Let us know how it goes. :)

Dermatologist would be my first suggestion hence they are skin doctors and probably will be able to diagnose what your irritation is =]. Don't be embarrassed!

Just make an appointment with your family doctor.

Nothing to be afraid about. It's most likely an ingrown hair or a pimple, but poking around on you own can turn a simple pimple into an infection.

Are you sexually active? If you're worried that this could be sexually transmitted then it really is in your best interest to go to your doctor and have this checked out.

This is your reproductive health, your body and you and only you can take care of it by making sure you get the medical attention that you need.

If your family doctor feels you need a specialist then he'll make the arrangements. Really though, I'm willing to bet that it's something simple and the doctor can take care of it in his office right away.

Make an appointment, okay? Promise. :)

Let us know how it goes.

I expect an update after your doctors visit. ;)

We've all been there. Trust me.

I get a lot of ingrown hairs in my pubic area, right along the panty line so the darn underwear rubs up against it and makes me want to scream.

I think my doctor is beginning to schedule monthly appointments just to deal with this. ;)

It really is always best to see a doctor. Often times people start poking around by themselves and actually make things worse. The doctor has sterile equipment, and the knowledge to deal with these things, we don't.

Why cause yourself more pain in the long run? Right? :)
