I have an air handler in the ceiling of the garage and a condenser outside. I live in Fl and 95 in the house all the time is too hot.

I am trying to install the Honeywell RTH230B thermostat. The old thermostat had the following wires

red: rc
white: w
green: g
yellow: y
blue: c

I have put
red: rh
white w
yellow y
green g
blue nowhere

I put batteries in. NOthing . the habdler is not running. the a.c is not running.

I do not know what I did wrong .. Should I go buy an easier one? I am a single mother trying to self sufficient.

Add a jumper wire from RC to RH(at the thermostat). It should get you up and going.

unfortunately it has a jumper and still does not work. all the circuit breakers are on. the handler and the air condenser.
I have tried twice.

Did you turn the power off going to the air handler first.(if not you may have blown a transformer or low voltage fuse) With the thermostat apart if you jump R to G or R to Y will any thing run? If not its a voltage problem.
