Hi I recently bought a Memorex MiHT5005 DVD Home theater system for iPod. As soon as I had it plugged in, I realized that the rear speakers weren't working. The rear speakers are not emitting any sound other than the usual electronic hissing that allows us to know it's capable of sound. I've gone through the manual trying what it suggests multiple times with no success. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate.

I think everything is fine. You are most likely listening to a stereo track on your IPOD. The rear speakers on work with surround sound.

See page 21 in your manual.

Try a DVD and select Dolby Digital 5.1 and you should then hear the surround effects. It is not the same as what comes out and some movies don't use a lot of effects.

Let me know if that helps please.
