Can receive but not send messages from outlook.
Message is
Outlook is unable to connect to outgoing (SMTP) server'

all settings same as office computer where all works fine and have tried a USB connection of a friends and it works with that, but not wireless. have tried 2 different wireless connections, but get same message.

any suggestions???

Sounds like the wireless connection can't find your Mail service's SMTP server. Have you talked to them for tech support?

Yes, but they do not seem to be able to assist advising all settings the same as i already have.

Can you ping their server while on wireless? Can you browse the Net?

Hi have just been contacted by someone else with same problem.

Simply had to change SMTP port number to 8889.

So you are trying to use your work laptop on your home wireless? Are you using Outlook to reach an Exchange server?
