Hi, I have a 50" Hitachi plasma tv that has not got much use. I have used it maybe a total of 4 hours in the last year. Today I went to turn it on and there is nothing. No lights at the bottom, nothing on the screen, no noises. I am puzzled. I never use this thing and now that I want to use it it wont work. Help!!

Let's start with the basics?

Does the outlet have power? Try plugging something else into it.
Is the cord connected TIGHTLY into the back of the TV. They can come loose and pull out just enough to look like it's plugged in.
Have you tried using the controls on the TV to turn it on? You didn't give a model so we don't know if it has a standby light.

Good luck

Thanks for the response. The model number is: P50H401. It does have 3 lights on the bottom, one of which is a standby. None are lighting up. I did check the plug on both the wall side and the tv side, nothing. I also plugged something else into the same socket and it worked just fine...I am stumped.

Look under the bottom right for a main power switch. This is not the switch on the front panel where the channel and volume controls are. This one is under the lower edge of the housing near the circle with the I in it logo. I don't know how to post that image.

Hopefully, it's just the main power being turned off.

let me know please if this works!
