My Simplicity riding mower will not start. It makes a "buzzing" sound when I turn the key.

Hi,
Two things come to mind. The first is bad connection caused by dirty battery cables not allowing sufficient current to pass. The second is bad solenoid (the buzz) because it no longer "throws" (switches.)
