My boyfriend is 19, and he just told me that he has blood in his stool. I heard this could be something really bad, and he hasn't talked to anyone about it until just now, and apparently it's been happening for a couple of weeks. I'm really worried about him. He promised me that he was going to call his mom (he's under her insurance) and have her set up an appointment for him when he comes back this weekend.. Does anybody have any idea what this could be? I'm really worried about him. Please help.

Is the blood dark or bright red?

This could be a number of things that only a doctor can diagnose.

If the blood is bright red it may be nothing but internal hemorrhoids.

I don't know what color it is yet. I didn't get time to ask, When I was on the phone with him, he told me and then when I started to get worried he promised he'd call his mom and talk to her about it. I just hope it's nothing serious.

My friend had a similar problem, his stool was very dark which is a common side effect of an ulcer, he hasn't been diagnosed yet but that could be what's wrong with your boy friend, ask yourself if he has been under a lot of pressure or worried anymore then useual.

He hasn't seemed to be. He thinks it's just Hemmerhoids (I dont' know how to spell that) Or something.
