hi
I got my cartilage pierced 4 days ago. the day and the day after i got it pierced it wasnt to painful ( it was still reder then the other ear but not painful) but yesterday it started hurting (even when its not been touched) along with the redness it throbs and feels a bit hotter. my ear has also become slightly swollen (to look you would not be able to notice but i can tell because the bar does not move back and forth as much, and because its my ear.) i have been cleaning it twice daily with hot salt water which is what i was told to do. though it hurts i can still move it back and forth, but im still curious as to whether the pain i am feeling is normal. if anyone knows please let me know.
Thanks
Sorcha

yes the pain is normal. your body is trying to reject the piercing, the infection is there to fight it. to your body, there shouldn be anything pierced haha. piercings in cartilidge always take longer to clear up, usually a couple of months. it takes about 6 for them to be completely pain free, the slightest bump hurts, trust me and dont worry about it =D
