Why does my T V switch itself off approx every half hour leaving the red standby light flickering?

Belpick,

You could have some obvious power supply problems, external of your TV. For example, you could be losing your line feed voltage to the TV because of line spikes. Power drops.

Do you have any other devices in the room capable of transmitting InfR or Radio wave signals in the same room (an atomic clock)for example. These could be transmitting on the same freq as the TV and causing problems.

Once I put a Christmas Tree flasher plug on one of my instructors adding machines just to see him find the problem of power drops. :)

I think you could be right as we are currently getting a series of short power cuts not at the same time as the t v.Is there anything I can do about it other than complain.
