I've been in cheerleading since I was 16 and I love it. I am orginally from Canada but after gradulation I took a year off to go to europe to learn french. There are no clubs in my area and I want to try out for my university team next year. I am a base and I am fairly strong. I know I can improve my stunts by weight lifting and jumps by practice. I will be taking tumbling lessons since at the present I can't tumble. However since I am not stunting for a year I am fraid I will lose all my skills. What should I do?

The only answer to that is to condition... Run, every day. It tightens your leg muscles. Also, do leg exercises, arm exercises, push ups and sit ups daily. It'll keep you in great shape to base.
