You are about 3 months, at this stage your baby is just about finding everything she/he needs to survive in the womb. I imagine that the little person, floating around in amniotic fluid most of the time, would probably float upside down a bit too. So this is probably the reason he/she had her head in the wrong place at the particular time the ultrasound was being done. If this is in fact the case.

Did the technician offer any enlighten on this, or did you ask why the baby had his/her head at that particular angle ?

Please ask the proper people these questions, be informed about your pregnancy through your doctor, nurse, obygyn, or whoever you see. Phone your obygyn about this question and get all of the information you need so you wont worry which is definitely not good for you or the baby.

This is one of the most important times in your life.

There really is no way to tell with just engagement. You might go a little early, you might go passed your due date.

Your baby may move in and out of the pelvis before settling in to stay towards the end of pregnancy...or baby may stay put for the remainder of your pregnancy. Either way doesn't necessarily mean a whole lot in regard to when birth will take place.

As tickle said, check with your midwife or doctor again to ease your mind. If they were concerned about baby's position I would think they would have expressed that when you had the check.

Subsequent pregnancies tend to engage a little earlier than first pregnancies. The reason is that the pelvis and musculature is already prepared for the engagement. Now, this does not mean that the fetus is going to deliver early. As has been mentioned prior, there is still quite a bit of room to move around.

As a maternity nurse, I am more concerned about the position of the baby as longitudinal or horizontal than I am if it is engaged or not.

At this early point in time, if you don't have any other symptoms, I would not be too concerned. Check with your midwife to ease your mind.
