I have an accounting system for a non-profit organization using QuickBooks and we have summits and conferences where we get direct payments for registrations and sponsorships for registrations. I need to be able to post sponsorship revenue where I can track the total sponsorships we have and the sponsorships that have been assigned to an accounts receivable account. My fist entry is the following.

General Journal Entry
1. Debit-Undeposited Funds-Sponsorships (other current assets)
Credit-Summit Registrations (revenue account)

I need to be able to:

1. Apply the payment to a registration that needs a sponsor with out overstating revenue and yet decreasing the registered person (that needs a sponsor) accounts receivable account.
