My out door compressor unit stopped working suddenly. It sounds like something is running but the fan isn't turning on. I have tried replacing the fuses but it didn't help.

You need to see if 220/240 volts is available to the contactor in the outside unit. If the power is there and the contactor is pulling in on a call for A/C but the fan motor is not running it is possible the capacitor or the fan motor itself is defective.
