I have a goodman cpe36-1ab heat pump and the blower has started to run all the time. compressor cycles normally. The fan can not be shut off manually at the thermostat, (have tried a new t-stat), only by the breaker that shuts off the entire system. This was an intermittent problem, but is now constant. Is there a relay that can be replaced without spending $175.00 for a service visit ?

Usually the blower relay is located on the indoor units circuit board. But on some different Goodman models there is also a time delay board. Unless the thermostat wire from the thermostat to the indoor unit is pinched or shorted it should be a defective relay or the time delay. The wiring diagram should be located on the access blower door on the inside unit.

kool, i am having the same problem with my 7yr old RUUD system, the outside just decided to never turn off even when the tstat temp is reached and the furnace shuts off. i am afraid the outside unit will blow up. i already hit the reset button with no results, unplugged the thingy on the house in the box located near the unit and plugged it back in, sure, it turned off, but when i replaced the connector thingy, it just started right back up again and hasn't stopped..........i'm sure the fan will take flight soon.

sounds like maybe a stuck contactor,,,,,,,this is the thingy that the main electric wire that comes from the box located near the unit and smaller tstat wires are hooked to
