Im 47 and have weird, unpredictable periods. I start normally then stop until the next day. After stopping I pass blood clots and flood the rest of the day. I start and stop like this for about 4 days. Before I pass clots I cramp so heavy it makes me dizzy, the cramps completely stop after the clot has passed. I have no health insurance so I use our local Health Dept where I'm told its just my age and everything is normal. Once they prescribed birth control pills which I have always had other problems with. My tubes are tied. WITH THIS INFORMATION, CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME AS TO WHAT TO DO.

I have the same type of history, with me it was ovarian cysts. I suffered for 6 years with periods for 3 weeks out of the month until I had a total hysterectomy ovaries and all. Now all I suffer through is 10-20 hot flashes a day and night sweats so it a horse apiece. Good Luck. ? you have a free clinic in your area, if so try there you will have to wait longer for an appointment but you should have someone check you out.

At 47 I'm thinking the onset of menopause. Sadly that's only a guess.

You really have to see a doctor.
