Im 47 and have weird, unpredictable periods. I start normally then stop until the next day. After stopping I pass blood clots and flood the rest of the day. I start and stop like this for about 4 days. Before I pass clots I cramp so heavy it makes me dizzy, the cramps completely stop after the clot has passed. I have no health insurance so I use our local Health Dept where I'm told its just my age and everything is normal. Once they prescribed birth control pills which I have always had other problems with. My tubes are tied. WITH THIS INFORMATION, CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME AS TO WHAT TO DO. :confused:

I have the same type of history, with me it was ovarian cysts. I suffered for 6 years with periods for 3 weeks out of the month until I had a total hysterectomy ovaries and all. Now all I suffer through is 10-20 hot flashes a day and night sweats so it a horse apiece. At 47 I'm thinking the onset of menopause. Sadly that's only a guess.

You really have to see a doctor.
