Hello,. Okay so here's my situation. I am 24 years old, married with two children of my own. My younger sister is 19 and she has a daughter who is almost 2 years old, the father isn't around, we actually don't even know where he is. And she just found out she's pregnant again with some guys baby who took 3 hundred dollars from here and bailed. My sister isn't working and is on welfare. From what I've been told by a few reliable sources is that she has been known to do drugs with my 2 year old niece in the room. Here's my question... How do I go about getting custody of my niece without killing the bond I have with my little sister? What's the first steps I need to take to get my niece out of that environment and into a safe, stable home with me? And advise will Help!! Please!!

Lets see - you want a court to come take the child away from her and give her to you AND want your baby sister not to hate you?

Not likely.

Now - time for some tough love. If she is doing drugs while pregnant, you owe it to the child(ren) to report her. Call Child Protective Services. Its entirely possible she is killing the baby she is carrying and possibly addicting your 2 year old niece (depending on the delivery method of drugs, etc).

Your sister needs help and being her best friend isn't going to get it done. Be her big sister.
