I have irregular periods and also a small ovarian cyst. I had a period may 28th 2009 and my next one was july 2 2009.The one in july was very light and lasted six days. I started spotting july 18 which would have been day 16 of my cycle. I have been spotting now for four days. Sometimes it is pink discharge other times it is brown or red but only when i wipe. I am wearing a maxi pad just in case but it is clean no blood. Every since the spotting started I have been having very bad heartburn and am very tired. I do not expect a period until anywhere from day 32- day 35 of my cycle. Should i worry about this spotting or is it normal? I have spotted other months during ovulation before since i developed this cyst. Is this spotting probably because of ovulation or my ovarian cyst or could i have ovulated earlier this month and it is implantation? Any advice? It would be much too early for a pregnancy test. Also I had a rountine ultrasound done on july 15th to check out my ovarian cyst and also because i had been having pelvic pain and cramping. I have'nt got the results yet. However the results from a pelvic exam on july14th showed nothing unusual and the swabs they collected were negative for stds or infections. We have been trying to get pregnant for over a year without any luck. We did have sex on the 15th 16th and 19th. I just don't know what to do except wait to see if i get a period in august-any advice would help thanks.:confused:

This spotting lasted from the 18th - july 22nd but only when i wiped. I am really not sure what it was from any advice would help.

I think that spotting was from ovulation however it stopped on the 22nd. Then on the 24 there was one more tiny drop of blood when i wiped.Not sure if that was just left over from the ovulation spotting? Based on lots of cm I think I may have ovulated on july 19. I am not due for my period until august 2 or 3rd. I am having others symptoms like very tender nipples, feeling very tired, gaining weight having cravings for chocolate but those things could be pms. I am also having hot flashes but I am 35 maybe i am going through perimenopause? How soon could i test?

Go ahead and take a pregnancy test using first morning urine. If it is negative, test again in about a week.
