I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and my doctor has me on 800mg ibuprofen 3 times a day. My sister is on 600mg ibuprofen 3 times a day. It all depends on the severity of the inflamation and your doctor. Always check with your doctor first sbecause they know all of your medical history with your weight and age. Let your doctor decide what is right for you. Hope this helps.

Generally 600 mg. Over-the-counter is usually 200 mg.
