They are probably referring to a materials purchases budget.Principles of Accounting Chapter 21 (http://www.principlesofaccounting.com/chapter%2021.htm#COMPONENTS%20OF%20THE%20BUDGET)

The reference is related to:
Principles of Accounting
by Larry Walther, Ph.D., CPA, CMA
author contact: lwalther@<hidden>
administrative support contact: marnie@<hidden>

I remember you said in one of your posts that you never heard of Larry Walther to which I had referred. In one of the earlier posts you also quoted chapter 4 of the same book.

That book is online and I have it bookmarked. I've never paid any attention to the author. (I just immediately click on Contents and go to whatever I want.)

I remember you mentioning Walther, but don't remember what it was in reference to. I've never really read that online book -- I don't have time to go around reading new textbooks. I use it mostly just for the examples, that and one other site I have bookmarked.
