I am now transitioning from a NO GO mono benzone after a disastrous time with the UNIVERSALLY NO GO product - primarily a scam Benzylarbutin , to now

HYDROQUINONE..

the product i have is photograde HQ and is white crystalline in form ..

I need help to find out how to make a cream out of crystal form of HQ.. and pretty please ( wiht a cherry on top and soem icing too ) dont tell me refer to previous posts. the previous posts have recipes for powdered HQ...

i am currently having white crystals of HQ .... so i figure i need to get tehse powdered first ? I have no clue.. looked up the internet.. and if the internet was a person right now .. i wouldve SPANKED its for nothing giving me the answers to my questions on hydroquinone crystals b eing made into a cream .......

help needed at the earliest guys .. I have really lost my patience with everything else. !

Ok my first batch of HQ crystals which i pestel and mortar'ed into powder, mixed wtih rubbing alochol..

placed in a jar in boiling water let them dissolve, then added cream and mixed.. and then left in the dark dry cupboard.. turned PINKISH BROWN..

what next ?

this method of making hq cream did not work !

Please help me before I waste all my powder !

Again do bear in mind its a CRYSTALLINE form and not a powder.. so i need to first take care of that part.... am i doing the right thing by crushing HQ first ?

Hydroquinone powder (Kodak) 5gm
Retin A 0.05% cream (DNS) 15gm
Lidex cream (DNS) 15gm
Eucerin cream (DNS) qs ad 50 gm

The HQ is dissolved in the water first, then the creams are combined,
and finally all are mixed thourougly by hand. This makes 50gm of a
very nice stable bleaching cream which emulsifies nicely. The fluocinonide
content is 0.015% and use is carefully monitored by giving the patient
10gm jars at a time. I have never seen atrophy or steroid induced
rosacea from use of this, but it is a concern of course. The patient is
instructed to apply at hs and use high SPF sunscreen every AM."

This recipe will work for the Hydroquinone CRYSTALS also / Would I need to crush the crystals first ? and convert them into a powder ?

Hey Imgorgeous, yes I hate when my questions arent answered too b/c I really want to know stuff and to acheive my goal. I only copied and pasted this formula but I never made my own formula before but hope to by the fall maybe with sepiwhite, alpha arbutin, kojic acid, and anything else I can find. Though I nolonger use hq, this formula seems pretty good. I'm not sure if there is a preparation difference with hq crystals and hq powder.

-Proplyene glycol-used as a moisturizer, also suggested is glycerin
-Eucerene Cream-or other good moisturizing lotion
-Retin A- aka Tretinoin, a derivative of Vitamin A used for acne and hyperpigmentation. "the outermost skin layer thins and the cells in the epidermis level produces a thickened epidermis layer."
-Lidex cream-type of steroid cream (be careful w/ streroids though). Used to treat inflammation and itching...also thins the skin.

From what I have read, you have to dilute 2-4% in either alchohol or water. I think the best thing to do is contact the supplier who you purchased it from, a hq crystal vender, pharmacist, or online science lab and ask for the accurate dilution and formulation for the hydroquinone crystals for cosmetic use. Someone also stated on the post that the hq was 1st mixed in a skin creme in a jar that's not clear, closed it tightly and then placed it in a pot of boiling water for about 10min until it dissolved, let it set & not open it for some time. Also which was important as quoted "Hydroquinone is light and air sensitive so to stop it from turning brown you have to make sure the powder is fully dissolved, kept in an air tight container and kept in a container that is not clear. The container that I have is clear so i keep it in a brown paper bag."

...Personally I would think all you need is a good moisturizing creme/lotion after you dilute the hydroquinone and use a exfoliating soap like papaya kojic acid soap, or something similar before applying the cream to help the creme to work well. I hope this helps.

will try this too .... i tried dissolving hq crystals in rubbing alcohol in a closed jar over a bowl of boiling water.. and that changed the HQ to BROWNNNNNNNN...

so let me try it with cream this time ....

What percent solution of hydroquinone would that make? Thanks!

Well, 5gm is 0.0005% (Convert microgram/gram calorie to percent - Conversion of Measurement Units (http://www.convertunits.com/from/microgram/gram+calorie/to/percent)). But again, I never tried this recipe. I only copied and pasted it from the links above, so I think it would be best to ask the ones from those websites for precise formulas.
