We just had our coil upstairs in the attic replaced as it was blocked and the unit recharged w/ freon. The change has not changed the temp one bit. My house is still 80 degrees even after this change. Does the unit need more freon? The guy who did the replacement said that the compressor took off harder than it had been working before. ?

took off harder???? sounds to me like you might not have even had a block in you old coil? not sure what tech did to find block, or even why he said block. sounds to me like his diagnosis might have been wrong to begin with or something else is wrong or he did something during repair.
i recomend having company send thier senior or lead tech out and go over entire system.

I would definately get the installers back out. There are many things that could have happened. May not have gotten charge right, or may even have forgot to open service valves. Usually you pull all refrigerent into condenser using the service vavle, when you make repairs to coil or line set. Then you pull a vaccum on line set and a-coil, and open service valves. This way you dont have to reclaim refrigerant, or recharge system. But i have seen people forget to open service vavles. I would not run system untill you get the installers back out. If you do, wether it be a low charge, or closed service valves, etc etc, running the system may cause damage to compressor or (if a low charge) freezing of a-coil which may result in water damage to furnace controls. Please let us know what the tech finds.
