I have developed this obsession with masturbating. I think about it at least once every hour of the day. It doesn't even matter what I'm doing. About four times a day I'll pleasure myself, and I tend to do it in ten-thirty minute increments. I haven't let it disrupt any of my normal activities, except I don't go out as much and I'm not watching as much TV as I was prior.
I'm 18, and I seem to be the only one of my friends who pleasures them self this much. I love the way it makes me feel, I just love everything about it. I used to only do it about four times a week, but now it's four times a day.... I'm wondering if this is in the begining stages of an addiction or not.

Eventually you will not want normal sex because what you are doing is too predictable. And, pretty soon that is all you will do. Do you not have any self control and you may want to think about the damage you are doing to your genitalia along with possible prostrate cancer in the future. Oh, and I assumed you were male, but some of the same goes for female, quite damaging when you sit down and think about it (not masturbating) the damage.

I think you are 18 and in the prime of your life, if it is not causing you or anyone around you any pain than go for it. I think you will grow out of it or it will subside when you get older and find a partner.

I don't think it was clear that I'm a female. An 18 year old, lesbian, female. Thus prostate cancer and such does not apply to me in the slightest.

Hi DHF, you should have made that clear in the first place. It would have saved some time and a really redundant answer.

I went through a similar sort of thing. Are you in a relationship, or thinking about anyone in particular? I'm not a lesbian, but I found that after I was in a relationship with regular sex my masturbating died down a bit. I still do it on the odd occaision, because it just feels so damn good, but I don't think you have too much to worry about! Enjoy yourself I say!!

I think that what you're going through is relatively normal for a young woman not in a relationship that is discovering pleasure. However, if it starts to affect your daily life and you structure your activities around it, that should be an alarm bell for you.

I have been through similar periods in my life and found that once I was in a relationship, or the circumstances changed, then the desire to masturbate as much abated.

if your not hurting anyone else this is acceptable and personal but if its a chore then its no longer really that much of a pleasure is it? try to cut back alittle make it a quality pleasure rather than quantity you be in control rather than it control you take a day at a time
