I am currently in the US on an H1B visa that expires in May 2011. I have the option of starting to contribute towards 401K with my current employer. I do not have any previous 401K contributions. My questions is if it is worth it to contribute and withdraw the money before I leave the country. I am planning to immigrate to canada after that. Not sure if that helps. Will I loose a lot in the penalties and taxes.
