There are many reasons companies want to raise capital. One is that they want to expand their operations. Another reason is that they want to invest in other companies or the stock market.

Look at the question this way. If you were an owner, partner, or CEO in a company why would you want to raise capital. If you think about it I am sure you will think of other possible reasons to raise capital.
