What to do in case of the message "Application HighJacking detected" by the Sygate firewall? The message is appearing since the installation of Internet Explorer version 8. The message appears while refusing iexplore.exe to contact websites of banking coompanies.

Apparently, Sygate firewall believes that your system is infected with some sort of bot and that this bot is trying to steal your information.

First, download and install CCleaner

CCleaner - Home (http://www.ccleaner.com/)

Use CCleaner to clean out everything. In the Cleaner section, chedk everything under the Advanced section (normally not checked). Also, under Options | Advanced, uncheck the top box (Only delete files in Windows older than 48 hours).

Go to the Registry tab, run a registry scan and delete everything that it finds. Repeat this at least three times. When it asks if you wish to backup the changes, select "Yes" and save them to some place on your disk for a month or so. If you don't have any problems (you shouldn't), you can delete them.

After cleaning the system, download and install the free version of MalwareBytes:

Malwarebytes.org (http://www.malwarebytes.org/)

If MalwareBytes finds anything, you should definitely delete it. Disable your Sygate firewall while MalwareBytes is scanning and cleaning.

If that doesn't clear the error, post back here and we can give you more information. You could also try installing Firefox and use that instead of IE8 (it's generally considered to be more secure), but I'd still do the above before installing it.
