Hi
My question is can my wife get unemployement. She quit working at the company she was working at to take care of my grandmother as she got sick. She did not get paid but volunteered. Now she needs a job because we have no money and she now cant get a job because of this economy. Is she eligible for unemployement or anything. Thanks

Unfortunately she is not eligible for unemployment if she quit a job. Volunteers are not eligible for unemployment either.

Sorry no, first if she had a paying job and still quit, she would not get to.
But since it was a non paid job, no there would be no unemployment paid in.

Unemployment benifits is a "insurnace" that the company you work for pays in. So you have to be paid and be covered to get benifits.

If you are very low income, have she looked into welfare
