Ok yes Im not that bright im a 28 yr old female and have no ideal what to do. My air was working in my house than stopped getting in cool. I changed the filters inside and still no luck. Went outside and noticed the fan inside is not moving tried to spin it but still doesnt crank up. I have no ideal and no luck can someone please tell me what it can be and there is a sound outside where the fan is at but not loud so its turned on. :confused:

the sound outside is probably the compressor running(does it sound kind of like a fridge?) Did you try spinning the fan both directions? If so and fan didnt start, it sounds like you need a new fan motor. IF you dont feel comfortable working on this, it may be time to call in a pro. They should be able to find the problem in short order. Are you looking to fix this yourself? If you are, and you dont have a multimeter, you can just remove fan motor, take it to any heating and cooling company, or electical company and have them test it for you. IF they find that it is bad, they should be able to order one for you or may even have one in stock. Then you just put in as you took it out and you should be all set. Make sure capacitor is replaced with motor.

Yes it sounds like a fridge, and I have tried to spin it both ways and still no luck

two possible problems,,, either fan motor is not getting correct voltage(very unlikely) or motor is bad(very likely). Get yourself a new motor and you should be all set.
