My Compressor fan motor stopped working last night. I noticed it when it was making a loud humming and buzzing noise. I gave it a few spins with a stick and it started spinning on its own but same problem when I woke up this morning. I purchased a new motor from Graingers today but the wiring is different. My old motor had black, red, and brown wires with the red and brown wires going to the capacitor. The new motor has black, yellow, brown, Brown with white. Diagram on motor says that the brown and brown with white wires go to the capacitor and the black and yellow go to the power. Where do I connect the yellow wire to?

You can cap off the brown/white wire and not use it and wire the new the same as the old. Make sure the old capacitor will work with the new motor.(Always buy a new capacitor with your new motor). A lot of the times its not the motor thats bad, its the $5 capacitor.
