Hey!

Is this asbestos ? its on a old oil boiler for heat in the house , it goes water true the pipes.:confused:

Looks like spun fiberglass to me. BUT the only true was to know is by testing.

Note is you are going to mess with it make sure you take all necessary precautions. Fiberglass of this type can get into your eyes or on your skin and cause some major problems.

Asbestos is a problem when it delaminates. Also most asbestos pipe is wrapped in hard cast style but there are many other styles.

doesnt look like asbestos at all. Like Hvac said, it looks more like fiberglass inso. but like he also said, best to have it tested. If i saw this, it wouldnt worry me at all(as far as asbestos goes). Take precautions to cover all skin and eyes and even wear a breathing mask. This stuff will make you itch like crazy.
