Telecommuter
Jun 17, 2009, 08:35 AM
I am currently a TN resident that will be moving to FL (husband's job). I currently work from home 30 hours a week and work in my TN office only 10 hours a week. I am considering asking my employer to allow me be a telecommuter all 40 hours from FL.

Would this pose a tax problem to my TN employer? Would he have to open a FL tax account just so I could work from there?

Thank You!

There are virtually no problems tax-wise, since BOTH Tennessee and Florida have NO state income tax.

The only issue would be the state unemployment tax, which is a minor problem at best.
