I have an HP C4240. It prints fine, it copies fine, but it will not scan. It says "USB not connected". Obviously the USB IS connected if it's printing out stuff from my computer. What should I do? I've gone into the device manager and see no problems, it's set as default....I'm just lost here. Any help would be appreciated.

my scanner function doesn't work properly either. for me, the button on the scanner/printer itself give me error messages. but if i go into my start menu and through my scanner and click "scan image" it works. have you tried anything like that?
