Hi, I currently a high school student and I'd like to study abroad for my BA. I don't really care which country to go to unless the University or College is good enough. I'm Maltese (EU citizen) but I think of this more of an obstacle since the University of Malta doesn't provide any programs for Maltese who want to study abroad. My BA would be something neat computer science/engineering/programming?

A few Question:

1. What's better to go to a college or a university for BA?

2. Any idea of a suitable country a reasonably good university/college that has also a low cost of living?
3. How much will a 4 year BA course cost per year? (including tuition, logging and food)

4. Do I have a chance to apply for any scholarships/grants considering there aren't any applicable to Malta?

5. Did any of you ever study abroad? If so tell me anything about it please!

Depending on the country you choose, college and university can be two different things, or somewhat interchangeable. Universities are most often thought of for degree programs, but some colleges also offer BA programs in certain areas of study.

Cost is going to vary on the location and the school. Very rough estimate for international students: 14,000 - 35,000 EUR per year.

Yes, some universities will offer scholarships to international students....you can also look into the possibility of student loans, which would probably be more likely.

I went to Denmark while in high school, my daughters have both studied in the UK...one in high school, the other at university. We all agree they were wonderful experiences. You learn a great deal about people from other cultures as well as about yourself. It provides a great chance for travel as well and the chance to be an ambassador for your country to others. At university level, it can be a plus on a resume/CV as well. I highly recommend the opportunity to anyone who has the interest.....:)
