I have been on a range of pills for almost 2 years now, every one i tried gave me some kind of nausea. I tried one called microgynon and a few others. Then i went on the Nuva ring, that still gave me nausea but i managed to stop that by putting the ring in before i went to bed. I always got the nausea and vomiting on the first day of a new month for the pill. I went off the Nuva ring because it was affecting my libido, but i would really like to be back on some kind of contraception.

What are my options for finding a contraceptive that wont affect me?

Also a week after finishing the nuva ring i have very tender nipples, is this probably due to a hormone change?

Thanks

how long did you try each pill? for me, usually i was a lil nauseous for the first couple months and by the third/fourth month i was back to normal.

I took each for around 4 months but each time the doctor took me off them, she said i was progesterone sensitive. They actually made me vomit so I couldn't deal with staying on them. Have you heard of any are low dose and may work?

i'm currently on ortho tri cyclen low (sp?). its been the best for me so far. its high enough that i don't normally experience break through bleeding or spotting. but low enought aht i don't get sick. and the hormones gradually increase. week one is especially low. week two is a lil more. week three is highest. and then week four is inactive.

I also have had trouble with side effects of the pill. You could try the "mini pill" or the depo provera shot. Those are formulated differently and I personally have had good result from depo.
