mmseitz May 11, 2009, 02:30 PM I am replacing my old termostats with a HUNTER MODEL 44260 Programable Thermostat. The wires on my old thermostats are not labeled. Both my thermostats have 1 white wire, 1 yellow wire, 1 blue wire and 1 wire that is slightly off-white. Can anyone help me? I don't know which wire is which. The new thermostat requires I label the wires, RH; RC; Y; W; and G. I think the White is W; and the blue is Y?
class 101 May 11, 2009, 03:44 PM all a/c control are wire in that way red wire is your hot wire of your 24 volts from your unit. green wire is your fan, yellow wire is your cooling control, white wire is your heating control. rh and rc are wire together. blue wire is soon time use for a yellow? here is a test you can do. frist turn off the unit and the furance. remove the wires one by one and mark the letter on a paper. if is G with a green wire mark it
mygirlsdad77 May 11, 2009, 03:58 PM Alan. Good advice, however, i know you are new here, so i say this only to help......I would be very carefull about posting your phone number on here, as you may get alot more call than you want. Not only the poster on this page but anyone that looks here can see this number, and trust me, there are people that will call the number to be jerks. Just trying to help.
mm, if you could take a pic of were the wires hook to thermostat, and a pic of were wires hook at furnace, we will do our best to walk you through this. You say you dont have a red wire at stat, so we will need to determine which wire is being used as a power.

class 101 May 11, 2009, 04:31 PM Thermostrats are calibrated or preset at the factory for accurate temperature reponse and will not normally need recalibration. If a thermostat seems out of adjustment, the first thing to do is to check for accurate liveling. If that doesn't solve the problem, check and or adjust the calibration. call a pro.

wmproop May 11, 2009, 07:26 PM my first and best advice is to take the Hunter back to where-ever and either trade it for a honeywell / or get a refund,,,,,,,somewhere down the road and probably not very far down the road,,you will think about my advice if you keep it
KeepItSimpleStupid May 11, 2009, 08:16 PM With this system you can pick a wire/any wire.
Find the one that makes things happen. That wire is R:
When R is connected to G, the inside fan runs.
When R is connected to W, the heat eventually comes on.
When R is connected to Y, the outside compressor runs
RC on the tstat will connect to Rh and will become R.
