hi Kimberly, About 25 years ago I had an interest in the macrobiotics. It was really for health reasons. It is a very low fat diet i believe 10% of the diet. Consisting of miso soup ,brown rice very little meat and a number of Japanese dishes . I found it pretty difficult and expensive to follow. I had purchased several books on it and was fascinated at the fact that it claimed to heal cancer and other difficult to treat diseases. Recently I read up on it in wikepedia and it claims that Michio Kushi a teacher and author of the books I had purchased actually had colon cancer later and that his wife and daughter had died of cancer as well. His wife also was a practitioner of the macrobiotic philosophy. I know that Madonna is a practitioner which led me to take a second look.
