I naturally have really curly hair, and ever so often I'll straighten it, but I really like the look of soft waves. I was just wondering how I can get my hair like that. I can't do anything with my hair while it's wet, because no matter what I do with it, it ends up curly. Put it up-curly. Blow-dry-curly and poofy. I tried straightening in and then using a curling iron on it to create waves, but the curling iron did nothing and it stayed straight. How can I get waves without damaging my hair with tons of chemicals and heat?

I have super curly thick hair, but like the look of soft waves as well. So i found if you straighten and then use hot rollers Voila! soft beautiful waves. Much luck!
