light bleeding and light cramping doesn't sound too worrisome to me. when I had a miscarriage I had very, very painful, severe cramps. But you're doing the right thing to see your doctor.

While spotting or bleeding needs to be checked out, it is not uncommon in early pregnancy. Some light cramping can be normal as well. Wise to have your doctor check, but odds are all is fine.
If it becomes severe, or a fair amount of bright red bleeding give them a call right away. In most cases, if it were a miscarriage, this early on there often is nothing that can be done for it, but certainly you would want to be checked.
