Hi i had my son by c section nearly two and a half years a go. Since then i have 3 weeks of bleeding followed by about 8/9 days off. The first seven days of the bleeding is very light and a brown colour. The next four days are so heavy i have to use a tampon and a night towel, and still have to change within an hour or i flood all over the place. Then the bleeding goes back to really light and very dark again? What is this. It's really frustrating and very hard to conceive another child. Plus i get married next year and don't want to be bleeding all through it.

Dr has done a scan - normal. Done blood tests - also normal.
Please help

Since it has been going on since the birth of your son, and you have had some checks to see if there is another reason, it could just be your new "normal". Some women simply bleed more than others.

Maybe talk to your doctor for some ideas on how to lessen the flow. Some women find using birth control pills for a few months changes their cycles a bit.....might be a possibility. They may also consider do some more invasive checking either in the office or in hospital. There are a few procedures that may be used depending on any findings....such as a D & C.
